Movement, engineering, and material intelligence.

Born in Brooklyn in 1955, Stephen Solomon graduated from SUNY Stony Brook in 1977 with a BA in Fine Arts. His first major commission came soon after, setting the course for decades of public and private sculptural work.

Working from Westhampton, New York, his practice draws on movement, structural thinking, and the expressive possibilities of metal.

In addition to sculpture, he has collaborated with architects and designers on furniture, architectural details, and site-specific installations.
